This was Pakistan’s
fifth tour to South Africa and records said that Pakistan had lost 9 out of the
12 test matches played. Test match series between Pakistan and South Africa had
naturally put down the morale of Pakistanis but at the same time Pakistanis
believed that next T20 match series would be white wash by Pakistani shaheens
InshaAllah. The test cricket matches between these two nations itself have a
long interesting story which would be difficult to discuss in single attempt
but some of the major events have right to be discussed and known by new
generation.
As history remembered that
the world’s first test match was played between England and Australia on 15
March 1877 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, where Australian Kangaroos won the
match by 45 runs, similarly, Pakistan and South Africa (Proteas) played test
match against each other for the first time in 1994 /1995 which was won by
South Africa.
The overall records of
test cricket matches since 1995 to 2013 between Pakistan and South Africa said
that total 21 matches have been played in which South Africa won 11 matches;
Pakistan won only three matches while other seven were drawn.
In last test match series Proteas white washed
the series by 3- nil and on this appalling situation Pakistani Captain Misbah
ul Haq said that the conditions of wickets in south
Africa are very different from the one we played in Asia, furthermore, he added
a suggestion that international tours should be arranged for the younger
players so they learned skills to play on different kinds of pitches. On the
criticism which Pakistani team is facing he said that no player likes to lose
the match. Yes, at the point the Pakistani captain is absolutely right that
players should be trained to play on any kind of pitch.
Pakistan had lost This
test series but still 18 Crore
Pakistanis have believe that in next T-20 and one day match green shirts will
not let them down.
